Officials with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Pocatello say overnight winds, lingering snow showers and some fog could lead to difficult travel conditions early Tuesday morning. 

In a Special Weather Statement issued on Monday, NWS officials warned drivers to be prepared for possible drifting snow and patches of ice on the roadways. 

Meteorologist Elizabeth Padian said the winds and snow showers should taper off in the late morning hours on Tuesday, although some fog could remain near Rexburg and Island Park. 

Temperature highs will range between the upper 20s to low 30s for most of east Idaho on Tuesday, Padian said. 

Christmas Day should be mostly sunny, she said, adding that most local areas can expect temperatures to be in the 20s.
