IDAHO FALLS — The Bonneville County Coroner's Office has identified two men who died in separate incidents in the Idaho Falls area on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a 25-year-old Pocatello man died early Tuesday morning after he was struck by a semi while running across Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls. Idaho State Police said the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on northbound I-15.

The man was running through traffic on the interstate when a 2024 Volvo semi driven by a 28-year-old man from Manitoba, Canada, attempted to avoid him while traveling northbound. The truck struck the man and he died at the scene. The northbound lanes of I-15 were blocked for approximately five hours following the collision.

The Bonneville County Coroner's Office identified the man as Tyson Dory, 25, of Pocatello.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

In the second incident, a man and his dog were found dead inside a pickup truck that left the roadway and crashed into a tree in the front yard of a residence north of Idaho Falls. Emergency personnel were dispatched just before noon to the 7000 block of North 15th East, where they found the small pickup had gone off the road and struck a tree, the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office said.

Initial information indicates the truck was traveling northbound on 15th East when it lost control. No other occupants were in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

The Bonneville County Coroner's Office identified the driver as Daniel W. Meyer, 52, of Idaho Falls. The preliminary investigation indicates Meyer lost control of the vehicle before it struck the tree.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
