A 4-year-old Bingham County boy died Saturday evening after being stuck by a vehicle at Snake River High School near Blackfoot.
According to a news release issued by the Bingham County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the school just after 5 p.m. for the report of a child who had been struck by a vehicle.
Melissa Polatis was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, and, as she was turning around, did not see 4-year-old Connor Covington and struck him with the vehicle.
CPR was administered by people at the scene until Emergency Medical Technicians arrived and took over. Covington was pronounced dead after several minutes of life saving procedures were not effective.
the investigation into the incident is ongoing, but at this time appears to be just a tragic accident.
