POCATELLO — Students and faculty at Century High School were temporarily evacuated Wednesday afternoon after smoke was reported in the band room of the building.

Tom Sanford, Battalion Chief with the Pocatello Fire Department, says the department received a call at 12:49 p.m. that a battery pack in the band room area of the building had shorted out and was producing smoke. The fire alarm was activated and students and staff evacuated.

The Pocatello Fire Department responded to the school and cleared the scene, and students were allowed to return to classrooms.

No damage was done to the building and there were no injuries.
