IDAHO FALLS — The Blackfoot man accused of murdering a 21-year-old woman in January, is now facing two additional charges in a separate case.

Adan Arroyo was charged this week with felony counts of injury to jail and introducing, conveying, possessing, receiving, obtaining or removing major contraband in a correctional facility, according to court records.

Arroyo was arraigned in court on Wednesday, and a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to take the case to trial will occur later this month, according to court records.

In a separate case, Arroyo is also facing a felony first-degree murder charge as well as a weapon enhancement for allegedly shooting Idaho Falls resident Kristy M. Aschliman, who died in January.

Arroyo has pleaded not-guilty to both those charges and is awaiting an August trial.
