POCATELLO — AT&T 4G LTE network in Pocatello has been turned on in order to bring customers the latest generation of wireless network technology, according to a news release.
“With 4G LTE in Pocatello, customers will be able to download, upload, stream and game faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network,” said Jason Olson, Director of External Affairs, AT&T-Idaho. “As we see demand for mobile Internet skyrocket, our ongoing investments in Pocatello are designed to give businesses, resident and visitors increased coverage and reliability.”
AT&T invested more than $60 million in its Idaho wireless and wireline networks from 2010 through 2012, with a focus on expanding 4G LTE mobile Internet coverage and enhancing the overall performance of its networks.
“Not long ago our broadband speeds were lagging. Today, we welcome the investment in wireless broadband at speeds as fast as a desktop to give our residents the service and speeds they deserve to run their businesses and everyday lives,” said Senator Jim Guthrie. “Our community will greatly benefit from increased investment in broadband infrastructure and embrace this investment in Eastern Idaho.”
AT&T’s 4G LTE network delivers speeds up to ten times faster than 3G, as well as multiple innovations that optimize the network for performance, according to a news release.
