POCATELLO — The community is invited to welcome the 6 over 60 group as they ride their bicycles into Chubbuck and Pocatello Tuesday evening.
The 6 over 60 team is a group of six men, ranging in age from 64 to 68, who are biking across America to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. They began their trip in June by dipping the back tires of their bicycles in the Pacific Ocean, and will conclude in New Hampshire where they will dip their front tires in the Atlantic Ocean 3,667 miles later.
The 6 over 60 will meet with members of the local POW*MIA organization at the School of Hairstyling, 141 E. Chubbuck Road in Chubbuck at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. The POW*MIA group will then escort the six to the Bannock County Fairgrounds off Olympus Drive in Pocatello where they will meet with fellow veterans and patriots as they document their stops throughout the United States.
The Wounded Warrior Project works to raise awareness and provide services and programs to aid injured service members. Programs include combat stress recovery and family support.
