CHUBBUCK — Two local charter schools were briefly locked down late Friday morning after police responded to a Chubbuck man who had threatened a family member with a pistol, authorities said.

Around 10:45 a.m. Chubbuck police responded to the home of Eric Lissy, 40, on the 1000 block of Pinewood Avenue for the report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived they were told by the reporting party that Lissy “had threatened a family member with a firearm” and “had been involved in a separate disturbance with his girlfriend the prior day,” Chubbuck police said in a news release following the incident.

Police said they then began searching for Lissy, found him hiding in an outbuilding on his property and arrested him without further incident.

He was not armed at the time of his arrest but police said they found his pistol nearby.

Lissy has been booked into the Bannock County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault for the incident, police said.

Both the Alpine Academy and Connor Academy charter schools, located near Pinewood Avenue, were briefly locked down while police took Lissy into custody.

There were no shots fired and no injuries during the incident.
