The Bingham County Sheriff's Office was asked by Fort Hall police on Friday to help investigate the shooting deaths of several dogs at a home there.

A window on the home was also shot out.

Capt. Mark Cowley of the Bingham County Sheriff's Office, did not say how many dogs were killed, but said it appears they were shot about a week ago. He also said reports that it was the result of a possible drive-by shooting are inaccurate.

Cowley said the man living in the home reported a window shot out, but it's a window that is not accessible to a car driving by.

"It appears it might be from a pellet gun from someone in a nearby field," he said. "It wasn't anything that would even be classified as a drive-by."
