POCATELLO - Nonprofit groups in Pocatello will benefit from centralized access to a reference of a variety of funding resources at the Marshall Public Library through December.

The Eastern Idaho Funding Information Center provides an online program designed to connect nonprofit organizations and individuals with donors, said Reference Services Supervisor Kris Castro.

"The really great thing is that instead of going through a ton of books to find out who might give you money, you can search online," Castro said.

A number of books on grant writing and finding scholarships are included in the display.

Castro said the library's staff is available to provide information to nonprofit groups and to assist organizations to navigate the computerized information center.

"All Things Gingerbread" is also on exhibit on the second floor of the library, displaying gingerbread-themed items.

Gaila Buticofer, also a reference supervisor, said the collection accumulated from the annual gingerbread crafting classes held at the library. During the classes, patrons used frosting, cardboard and candy to construct mock gingerbread houses.

The library also has hundreds of holiday items for checkout, including books about Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, as well as cookbooks, and craft books.

The Marshall Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Saturday during December.

The library will be closed on Dec. 24-25 and on New Year's Day.
