POCATELLO - Idaho State University may be faced with cutting another $1.1 million from its 2009 fiscal year budget if Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter decides an holdback an additional 1.5 percent statewide.
ISU already trimmed $744,000 from its current budget year, which started July 1, because of a 1 percent holdback In September, and the university's budget adjustments made at the time factored in 1 percent to 2.5 percent in holdbacks. A projected 5.9 percent state budget shortfall expected this year prompted the governor to consider the spending cuts.
