Folk Dance Workshop

Set for Feb. 28

Pocatello ¬¬- The International Folk Dance Group will host folk-dance workshop sessions from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Idaho State University Pond Student Union Wood River Room.

The workshop is free to ISU students and there is a $5 suggested donation for guests.

Delynne Peay from the Brigham Young University's folk dance faculty will be the instructor. She is part of a team that trains the BYU Ensemble, which travels internationally.

Recreational folk dancing is for everyone, regardless of age or ability. No previous experience is necessary and a partner is not required. The group would like to emphasize the fun of folk dancing. It is a form of aerobic exercise and practitioners can also learn to appreciate the uniqueness of each country's style of folk dance.
