CHUBBUCK - A father and son duo have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a wrecker business and vandalizing several vehicles, including one belonging to the father.

The Chubbuck Police responded Monday morning to Denny's Towing at 4705 Yellowstone Ave. to reports of vandalism which occurred sometime between 10 a.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday. Several vehicles that were in the impound yard had windows broken out and tires slashed. Damages were estimated to be more than $2,000.

One of the vehicles that had been damaged belonged to William Harris, 62, of Chubbuck. Upon questioning, Harris confessed that he and his son, Kody Harris, 30, had broken into the lot and vandalized the vehicles.

The elder Harris had been arrested on Dec. 13 by the Idaho State Police for a misdemeanor warrant and his vehicle had been impounded at Denny's. The Harrises

had contacted the wrecker service in an attempt to obtain property from the vehicle but were told the company was unable to release the items until Monday morning.

Kody Harris was arrested on an outstanding 2nd degree felony warrant out of Utah County, Utah for possession of an explosive device. He has also been charged with one count of felony malicious injury to property in connection with the damaged vehicles at Denny's. He is currently in custody at the Bannock County Jail.

William Harris has been charged with one count of felony harboring a fugitive and he was also cited for misdemeanor trespass. He has been released from Jail.

A Chubbuck Police spokesman said the investigation into the case is continuing and there may be other charges pending.
