POCATELLO - The Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group teamed up with local health clubs to raise money for its adaptive ski program and common adventure trips.

Director Dave Kriner said beginning Dec. 1, CW HOG will be selling three-month memberships to Fitness Inc. and Metropolitan Health Spa for $20. Both facilities are owned by Bill Davis of Pocatello.

Last year, CW HOG sold 110 memberships and hopes to increase that number to 200 this year.

Kriner said the membership fees are divided between CW HOG and Fitness Fundraiser, a national organization that helps communities organize local fitness events.

CW HOG receives one-third of its annual funding from student fees, but the group must raise the remainder of its $160,000 annual budget through local fundraising efforts.

"If your New Year's Resolution is to get in shape, this is a really inexpensive way to do it," Kriner said.

Fitness passes go on sale Dec. 1 at the CW HOG office, located in the Pond Student Union on the Idaho State University campus.
