POCATELLO - The number of charges have multipled against a local man who was captured after fleeing a local home when the owner awoke , and police are asking for the public's help to determine if additional burglaries may have occurred.

Leonard Charles Adams, 42, is charged with attempted burglary, burglary and four counts of possession of stolen property, all felonies. He is also charged with three counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property.

Under Idaho's theft statute, the possession of a stolen item with a value in excess of $1,000 is charged as a felony.

Pocatello Police Capt. Steve Findley said Adams fled a home he was allegedly burglarizing in the early morning hours of Oct. 1 when the resident awoke. Adams was stopped shortly after by a patrol unit. The resident positively identified him as the intruder and Adams was arrested. Subsequent investigation turned up allegedly stolen property in Adams' possession.

Findley is asking for public input to help in the investigation to determine the scope of Adams' alleged burglaries. Adams' residence is in the 1500 block of Monte Vista Drive, and the burglaries that have been reported are within a one and one-half mile radius of that address.
