LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF IDAHO PRESS RELEASE

The Libertarian Party of Idaho has asked the League of Women Voters and Idaho Public Television to reconsider their decision to exclude Kent Marmon, Libertarian candidate for US Senate, from their television debates. Of the five candidates for that office, only Marmon was denied an invitation to participate.

The Libertarians have had ballot status in Idaho for over twenty five years. "Providing complete and fair information in the race for US Senate will be impossible if Kent Marmon, the candidate from the third largest political party in the nation, is excluded" said Rob Oates, Chairman of the Idaho Libertarian Party.

Mr. Marmon was nominated at an official convention by a political party recognized by the State of Idaho. "That alone should qualify him for the ballot", said Patty Hautzinger, campaign worker for Marmon. "It's surprising that

IPTV and the League of Women Voters can question the existence of an active campaign when Kent has visited a number of communities across the state, regularly publishes a newsletter concerning current issues and maintains a professional website. If Kent had a family fortune or fat cat, special interest

support he would be in the debates." Hautzinger said.

Marmon lives in Caldwell, Idaho and works a full-time job. He has been campaigning for nearly a year. "I do not receive out-of-state funding as is the case with other candidates. We are getting our message of lower taxes and smaller government out to the voters with the help of friends, family and volunteers. I have no paid staff", Marmon said.
