“Mormon Mustang” to perform P-51 Fly By at 13th Annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally and Motorcycle Rodeos “Tribute Ceremony”

In December of 2006, the Mormon Mustang experienced a forced landing on the highway median in Rexburg following an engine failure. John Bagley walked away with minor injuries from a very damaged P-51 Mustang. We are very thankful that John walked away from this one. The Mormon Mustang has been rebuilt and is again airworthy.

Join us for our P-51 Fly By at our traditional “Tribute Ceremony” on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at noon in the arena at the Bannock County Fairgrounds at our 13th Annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally and Motorcycle Rodeo.

The Legacy Flight Museum in Rexburg, ID was started by aircraft enthusiast John Bagley and is the current home of the “Mormon Mustang”. John speaks highly of Lt Rowland Wright who hails from Blackfoot, ID and still resides there. He is a story of his own. Roland Wright flew 3 different P-51s with the 357th FG. All were named "Mormon Mustang."

The museum opened in 2006, with the goal that gives visitors the opportunity to see up close some of the machines that have served our country and provided us with the freedoms we currently enjoy.
