GARLAND, Utah - Marsh Valley staved off a late comeback from Bear River (Utah) to emerge with a 50-49 win Tuesday.

Marsh Valley led 36-27 entering the fourth quarter, but Bear River hit four 3-pointers to slice into the lead. The Eagles never once surrendered the lead, though, and held on for the win.

"The girls hung in there, played it tough and pulled it off right at the end," Marsh Valley coach Kyle McQuivey said. "Our girls had a hand in their faces, so it wasn't like free-for-all open shots. They just started draining them."

Courtney Dunn led Marsh Valley with 14 points, while Molly Skinner had 12.

Marsh Valley (5-4) next hosts Shelley on Friday.
