A 6-3 win over Sacramento State on Sunday gives Idaho State's softball team the top spot in the Big Sky Conference and the Bengal's will host the Big Sky's first-ever softball tournament next weekend at Miller Ranch Stadium.

The Bengals finished the season 28-21 overall and 14-4 in Big Sky Conference play, tied with Portland State. Idaho State, which took two of three from Portland State last month, won the tie-breaker and are the Big Sky Conference champions.

Idaho State will square off against fourth-place Sacramento State in the first round of the tournament, which gets underway on Thursday. Second-place Portland State will play third-place Southern Utah on Thursday.
