The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Blaine County, Northwestern Caribou County, Northern Bannock County, Southeastern Butte County, Central Power County, Central Bonneville County and Bingham County until at least 7:15 PM Tuesday.

At 6:25 PM Tuesday, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles west of Aberdeen to Fort Hall Mount Putnam, moving northeast at 35 mph.

Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts.

Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include Pocatello, Blackfoot, American Falls, McCammon, American Falls Reservoir, Neeley, Chesterfield Reservoir, Goshen, Chubbuck, Aberdeen, Inkom, Firth, Rose, Fort Hall Bannock Creek Lodge, Pingree, Pocatello Airport, Fort Hall Putnam Lodge, Fort Hall Buffalo Lodge, Fort Hall Eagle Lodge and Fort Hall Lincoln Creek Lodge.

LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS REPORTED

At 6:08 PM, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lava Hot Springs to Franklin, moving east at 50 mph.

Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include Preston, Soda Springs, Montpelier, Malad, McCammon, Lava Hot Springs, Swanlake, Bear Lake Idaho Portion, Grace, Franklin, Downey, Georgetown, Arimo, Saint Charles, Dingle, Thatcher, Oneida Narrows Reservoir, Cherry Creek Rest Area, Virginia, and Paris.

If on or near Bear Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

POWERFUL WINDS HAMMERING POCATELLO, BLACKFOOT, FORT HALL AND AMERICAN FALLS AREAS

Gusty showers will impact Southeastern Blaine, Northwester Bannock, Northern Power and Southwestern Bingham counties through at least 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

At 6:17 PM Tuesday, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers along a line extending from near Chubbuck to 10 miles west of Aberdeen. Movement was north at 35 mph.

Hazards include wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

The gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include Pocatello, Blackfoot, American Falls, Neeley, American Falls Reservoir, Chubbuck, Aberdeen, Fort Hall Buffalo Lodge, Fort Hall Eagle Lodge, Fort Hall Lincoln Creek Lodge, Portneuf Gap, Fort Hall Townsite, Springfield, Rockford, Fort Hall Bannock Creek Lodge, Pingree, Pocatello Airport, Fort Hall Putnam Lodge and Sterling.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near American Falls Reservoir, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Strong winds will create rough chop.
