Two people are in police custody following a Tuesday armed robbery at Advantage Plus Federal Credit Union in Chubbuck.

Brandon Damon, 43, and the driver of the vehicle involved in the robbery were both taken into custody by police on Tuesday evening on the Fort Hall Reservation following the 12:05 p.m. robbery at the credit union on West Chubbuck Road, authorities said.

Police have not yet released the name of the driver but said both individuals were taken into custody on unrelated warrants.

Police said charges related to the robbery are forthcoming.

Chubbuck police said no one was injured during the robbery but the masked gunman, believed to be Damon, did point a pistol at one of the tellers at Advantage Plus.

After the robbery he fled on foot to the Family Dollar store on West Chubbuck Road where he entered the passenger side of an older model white Chevrolet two-door pickup truck, police said.

The pickup, driven by another individual, then left the area, police said.

Authorities haven’t yet commented on how much money was stolen from Advantage Plus.

Chubbuck police immediately sought help from Fort Hall and Pocatello police, Idaho State Police, the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and FBI in tracking down those responsible for the robbery.

That assistance paid dividends not even 12 hours later with Fort Hall police arresting Damon and the driver.

Both individuals are currently being held by Fort Hall police on the reservation but will be transferred to the Bannock County Jail pending an extradition hearing, authorities said.

Chubbuck police issued a news release on Tuesday night thanking both the community for providing tips related to the case and the other law enforcement agencies that assisted with the investigation.

“There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time,” Chubbuck police said following Tuesday night’s arrests.
