BLACKFOOT — Bingham County Junior High and Middle School students recently participated in the Youth Art Competition sponsored by the Bingham Arts Council. Our talented sixth, seventh and eighth graders from around the area submitted artwork to be judged and displayed at the Blackfoot Public Library. All submissions will be on display at the Blackfoot City Library, 129 N. Broadway in Blackfoot from now through April 26.

Prizes were awarded on Wednesday by Blackfoot Mayor Marc Carroll.

Sixth grade:

— First place — Arianny Hernandez, Blackfoot Heritage Sixth Grade School, “Nature is Beauty.”

— Second place — Lilly Adams, Hazel Stuart Elementary, “Birch Trees in Autumn.”

— Third place — Tregun Robison, Blackfoot Heritage Sixth Grade School, “The Peacock.”

— Honorable mention — Lynn Weston, Hazel Stuart Elementary, “Harry Potter.”

— Honorable mention — Indi Clinger, Hazel Stuart Elementary, “The Coolest Freaking Eye Ever.”

Seventh grade:

— First place — Alex Orme-Paulk, Mountain View Middle School, “When Dinosauars Roamed the Earth.”

— Second place — Kathryn Murdock, Snake River Junior High, “Rainbow Owl.”

— Third place — Dexter Hansen, Mountain View Middle School, “Green Goblin.”

— Honorable mention — Lucille Summer, Shoshone Bannock Junior High, “Sun Sunny.”

— Honorable mention — Otkatay Matsaw, Shoshone Bannock Junior High, “Still Art: Pear.”

Eighth grade:
