Bear Lake 54, Malad 47

MONTPELIER - Bear Lake defeated Malad 54-47 at home Saturday, but Bears coach Brandon Carlsen wasn't too impressed with his team's play.

"We didn't play as well as I thought we should have," Carlsen said. "We just never could really get it under control. They hung right with us. They shot the ball really well."

Bailey Thomas led the Bears with 16 points, while Jordan Bills and Jordan Crane each contributed 10.

Bear Lake (5-3) next travels to play Star Valley (Wyo.) on Dec. 27.
