TWIN FALLS - A last-second shot by a player who hadn't made a basket all game doomed the Rockland boys' basketball team Tuesday.

The Bulldogs fell to the Twin Falls JV 42-41.

Rockland led 33-17 at halftime, but the Bruins slowly chipped away at the lead throughout the second half and actually took the lead at points in the fourth quarter.

However, the Bulldogs gained a 41-40 advantage with 12 seconds to go, but a 17-foot jump shot gave Twin Falls the victory.

Tyrel Turley scored 16 points for Rockland (1-4), and Matt Nelson added 14. Only two other Bulldogs scored, though.

"Tyrel played the best game of the season so far, and Matt stepped up big," coach Dan Ralphs said. "But the rest of the guys couldn't step up to pick p the slack."

On Friday, Rockland will be back in action when it travels to face Raft River.
