American Falls 20, South Fremont 0

AMERICAN FALLS - Stout defense and a patient rushing attack helped American Falls blank South Fremont, 20-0, Friday in the first round of the 3A playoffs.

"We've always been able to play good defense," American Falls coach Jess Johnson said.

Paden Johnson rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns for the Beavers, who broke open the game in the third quarter after a scoreless first half.

Camilo Carretero added 80 rushing yards and another touchdown for the Beavers, who will play either Kimberly or Weiser next week at American Falls.

The Beavers (6-3) gained 309 yards, all on the ground.
