MONTPELIER - Everything went pretty much as expected during Wednesday night's dual between 3A Fifth District rivals Marsh Valley and Bear Lake.

The Bears ended up winning 60-24 in a showdown that featured nothing but forfeits and pins.

"Their good kids matched up with some of our younger kids, and our good kids matched up with some of theirs," said Bear Lake coach Curt Radcliff. "There weren't any surprises tonight."

Michael Wheat (125), Cody Benjamin (130) and Dallen Viehweg (285) picked up pins for the Eagles, while Tyrell Skinner (135), Tyson Ward (140), Quinn Shirley (145), Jordan Rasmussen (160) and Doran Hyde (189) recorded falls for the Bears.

Both teams will return to action this weekend at the Sugar-Salem tournament.
