Gabe Pyne (126 pounds), Tucker Schutte (132), Dailen Corrigan (190) and Rogan Boomer (215) all picked up pinfalls, as the Century wrestling team earned bragging right by downing its crosstown rival Highland 44-35 Wednesday night at Century High School.

Boomer had the fastest pin of the night. He needed all of 55 seconds to dispatch of Alexander Mojarro.

But Pyne (1 minute, 41 seconds) and Corrigan (1:41) both had first-round pins, as well.

The Diamondbacks other wins on the night were Josh White (98), Austin Andersen (113), Mason Baumgardner (144) and Jaxton Humphries (285).

Reigning state champion Sawyer Anderson (120) led the Rams with a first-round pin (1:36) over Ryker Pyne. Rhilan Mays (106), Jacob Vincent (138), Casey Harmon (150), Brakken Johnson (157), Lucas Stohel (165) and Karver Kap (175) were all also victorious for them.

Vincent was involved in arguably the match of the night with a 14-11 overtime win over Century’s Hazen Thompson.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ROCKLAND 52, LEADORE 42, OT

Alexa Permann logged 16 points and five rebounds, as the top-ranked Bulldogs (9-3, 4-0 1A Rocky Mountain Conference) won a thrilling top-3 showdown Wednesday night at home.

Calyn Permann also had a big game with 13 points, eight steals, four rebounds and three assists. Sidney Freeman added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Twin Wiese totaled 10 points and Harmony Boyer rounded it out with five points, four steals, four assists and 10 boards for Rockland on the night.

WEST SIDE 36, WENDELL 32

Bentley Cundick had nine points, as the Pirates (3-12, 2-2) won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a nonconference victory on the road Thursday.

POCATELLO 55, SHELLEY 32

Abby Lusk notched a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals and three blocks, as the second-ranked Thunder (13-2, 2-0) rolled the defending state champions Wednesday night on the road in nonconference play.

Kenna Garza added 15 points and seven rebounds, Liv Marshall 10 points, Taylee Rogers four steals and four assists and Saige Hagler four assists for Pocatello in the win.

MALAD 53, DECLO 15Paityn Ward nearly outscored the opposing team herself with 13 points, as the top-ranked Dragons (13-0, 3-1 3A South East Idaho Conference) extended their winning streak to 13 games Wednesday night at home in league play.

Izzy Haycock and Mikell Keetch also reached double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Malad in the win.

THUNDER RIDGE 58, HIGHLAND 42

Jaycie Homer had nine points and Gracee Anderson seven points and eight rebounds, as the Rams (6-7, 0-2 6A High Country Conference) fell at home Wednesday night in league play.

WEST SIDE 43, ABERDEEN 14

Harley Nielsen had as many points and rebounds as the opposing team scored with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, as the Pirates snapped a nine-game skid with a dominant showing in 3A South East Idaho Conference win at home Wednesday night.

Miley Cundick also logged a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. Bentley Cundick rounded it out with 10 points for West Side.

MARSH VALLEY 47, GRACE 45

Tayzlee Belnap notched 18 points and four steals, as the Eagles (8-6) escaped with a nonconference win Wednesday night at home.

Zayli Merzlock chipped in with 15 points and six boards for Marsh Valley in the win.

SOUTH FREMONT 60, SNAKE RIVER 25

Ellie Adams had seven points, as the Panthers (0-13) were simply no match for the fourth-ranked team in the state Wednesday night on the road in nonconference play.

HIGHLAND GOES 2-1 AT EAST IDAHO HOLIDAY SHOOTOUT

Gracee Anderson totaled 34 points,19 rebounds and nine steals as the Rams went 2-1 at the East Idaho Holiday Shootout last week.

They lost to Hillcrest (56-31) before racking off back-to-back wins over Jackson Hole, WYO. (47-33) and Snake River (45-34).

Jaycie Homer also had a big weekend with a combined 29 points, nine rebounds and four steals during the three-day event.

Adrian Gonzalez netted 18 points, as the Diamondbacks (8-3) won their fourth straight home Thursday night at home in nonconference play.

Jordan Wilkinson and Peja Weed also reached double figures in scoring with 18 and 13 points, respectively, for Century in the win.

BLACKFOOT 60, BONNEVILLE 49

Austin Arave and Kasen Sorensen combined for 37 points, as the Broncos (5-4, 3-0 5A High Country Conference) remained unbeaten in league play Thursday night on the road.

Arave had 19 points and Sorensen 18 for Blackfoot in the win.

Zak Grigg bagged 17 points, as the fourth-ranked Beavers (8-1) ran their winning streak up to eight with a nonconference win Thursday night at home.

Sawyer Bolgen and Dax Brower chipped in with 12 points apiece for American Falls in the win.

Ethan Flicker had 18 points for the Royals (6-2, 1-2 1A Rocky Mountain Conference) in a road loss Thursday night in league play.

Rusty Hatch had 12 points, but the Cowboys (4-5, 1-2 1A Rocky Mountain Conference) were overwhelmed Thursday night in league play.

Ronnie Serna had six points for the Tigers (2-8), who have now lost six out of their last seven games.

Carter Carey led four different players in double figures with 14 points, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Dragons (4-6) dropped a close one Thursday night at home in nonconference play.

Zach Richardson (12 points), Brayzen Gibbs (11) and Justin Toone (10) all joined him in the double-digit points club.

Gavin Hansen had 21 points for the Cardinals (4-7, 0-1) in a third consecutive loss.

Eli Sauer put up 21 points and six assists, as the Royals won in 1A Rocky Mountain Conference play Tuesday night on the road.
