Everyone knows that Pocatello native Taysom Hill is one of the most versatile players in the NFL, a guy who can contribute with his legs, his hands and his arm.

In the New Orleans Saints’ 29-6 win over the New York Jets Sunday in the Superdome, Hill ran 12 times for 42 yards, caught four passes for 36 yards and late in the game fired a 38-yard touchdown pass to Chris Olave.

Olave streaked right down the middle of the field and Hill operating out of the shotgun, fired a strike for the Saints’ last points of the afternoon.

With the numbers Hill put up in the game he became the first player in the Super Bowl era to have rushed for over a thousand yards, caught passes for over a thousand yards and thrown for over a thousand yards in a career.

In his nine years in the league Hill has run for 2,551 yards, caught passes for 1,002 yards and thrown for 2,426 yards. He’s scored 45 touchdowns and thrown 12 touchdown passes.

Hill, a Highland High School and Brigham Young University alum, has played in 11 of the Saints’ games this year as he slowly worked his way back from an ACL injury suffered last season.

The win was New Orleans’ third straight and boosted their record to 5-10. They play at Tennessee next week.
