Century (1-1) at Jerome (1-1) 7 p.m.

The high school football season is only two weeks old, but it sure looks like Nate Borchert has the Diamondbacks clicking on offense. Century quarterback Michael Semons is leading the Fifth District in passing, averaging almost 280 yards per game, and Koby Campbell and Logan Standley are atop the receiver ranks averaging more than 100 yards per game. But it may take more yards than that to get a win this week. The Diamondbacks will face an equally impressive offense at Jerome. Through two games, Jerome has scored 99 points with its run-and-shoot attack.

Burley (0-2) at Pocatello (2-0), Homecoming, 7 p.m.

Pocatello needed late defensive stands in each of its first two games to hang on for wins. If the Indians need a third, there will be a lot of surprised people at Holt Arena. Burley has lost big in each of its two games this year and has been a punching bag for Pocatello the last few seasons. If all goes well, Pocatello's reserves should play for much of the fourth quarter.

Skyline (1-1) at Blackfoot (2-0), 7 p.m.

Blackfoot beat Madison 21-14 last week and gets another 5A opponent from Idaho Falls today. Expect a lively home crowd for the Broncos. After playing in Alaska and Rexburg, they finally get to play their home opener.

Rich County, Utah (1-1) at West Side (1-1), 7 p.m.

West Side faces off against an out-of-state opponent today that it defeated easily last year.

Preston (1-1) at Rigby (0-2), 7 p.m.

The Indians were devastated by their 14-12 loss to Pocatello last week. It was Preston's game of the year, and Shawn Marlow's squad came oh-so-close to pulling off a win. How well Preston deals with that disappointment will be key against Rigby. The Trojans will be ready to play in their home opener.

South Fremont at Bear Lake, 7 p.m.

Bear Lake scored 39 points in its opening win over Soda Springs and is off to a hot start this year. South Fremont has scored only 13 points total in two losses and is off to an equally slow start. Will those trends stay the same tonight?

Filer (0-2) at American Falls (1-1), 7 p.m.

American Falls beat Kimberly last week without throwing a single pass. It will be interesting to see if the Beavers try the same strategy against Filer.

Teton (0-2) at Marsh Valley (1-1), Homecoming, 7 p.m.

Teton is trying to break a long losing streak against Fifth District opponents. Ending it now won't be easy. Marsh Valley held Salmon scoreless on the road last week.

Sugar-Salem (2-0) at Aberdeen (2-0), 7 p.m.

This is one of the more intriguing games of the week. Sugar-Salem is an undefeated 3A school that has proved it can beat the 2A Fifth District with an opening win at West Side. But Aberdeen is undefeated and has proved it can beat a 3A opponent in its opener against American Falls.

Firth (0-2) at Soda Springs (0-2), 7 p.m.

It's not often that these two teams meet with winless records, but both squads have faced difficult schedules so far. Tonight's winner will have both the motivation to put a number in the win column and build some momentum before district play begins.

Ririe (1-1) at Grace (0-2), 7 p.m.

Picking up a win over Ririe will be difficult for Grace, but at least the Grizzlies can look to West Side's 12-0 victory over Ririe last week as a blueprint.

Mackay (2-0) at North Gem (1-1), 7 p.m.

North Gem will be up against a tough foe tonight. Mackay has absolutely breezed through its games so far, winning by a combined margin of 112-20.

Rockland (1-1) at Carey (2-0), 7 p.m.

Rockland is coming off a win, but it will need another good effort to win at Carey today. Carey is averaging more than 40 points per game so far.
