    The Pocatello girls basketball team played with Hillcrest for a half.

    But the Knights used a 22 point third quarter to take control of the game beating the Indians 63-54 Tuesday.

    Mckenna Hamberlin led the Knights with a game-high 24 points, while the Allie Parker led the Indians with 17.

    The Indians (3-2) host cross-town rival Highland today at 7:30 p.m.

    The Marsh Valley girls basketball team held Bear River to just 33 points in a game in which teams played tough defense. The Eagles used a 13 point fourth quarter to seal the 43-33 win Tuesday.

    “Our defense was real tough tonight,” Marsh Valley coach Kyle McQuivey said. “Bear River was scrappy and did not let us get off the type of shots that we like to,”

    Jessica Dunn led Marsh Valley with 11 points.

    Marsh Valley (4-0) plays at Soda Springs on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Rigby 54, Century 46

    The Century High School boys basketball team opened the 2011-12 season with an entire new starting lineup.

    The Diamondbacks played well in three of the four quarters as a 22 point second quarter by Rigby was the difference in the game.

    “We had a bad second quarter,” Century head coach Cody Shelley said. “But we kept the game close and I am happy with the way the team played.”

        Century plays at Hillcrest today. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
