Twenty area high school volleyball players earned all-state honors, voted on by the state’s coaches.
Malad led local schools with five selections, while Century and Soda Springs each had four honorees.
Malad is represented on the all-state first team by Britlynn Hubbard, Halli Hannah and Bayla Tripp. Teammates Ella Ward and Mesa Paskett earned second-team honors. The Dragons beat Firth to win their third 2A state title in six seasons.
Century is represented on the all-state squads by Zoe Thiros and Chinma Njoku on the first team. Julia McNulty and Lexi Bull were tabbed as second-team players. The Diamondbacks also won state, their seventh 4A state title since 2010.
Soda Springs’ Reagan Yamauchi earned first-team honors. Teammates Cedar Hopkins and AriAunA Barrus were tabbed to the second team, and Jorianne Balls earned honorable mention. The Cardinals took home third place at the 2A state tournament.
Other area volleyball players named to all-state teams include Snake River’s Abby Morgan (first team) and Bailey Sensenbach (honorable mention); Grace’s Kayci Younger (first team), Kylee Painter (second team) and Maniah Clegg (second team); and Rockland’s Hailee Tomkinson (first team) and Evie Waite (second team).
