Aberdeen is the highest-ranked local team in the high school football media poll, released Tuesday.
The Tigers and Declo are tied for the top spot in 2A with 46 points each. Aberdeen (1-0) received three first-place votes after beating American Falls 52-6 last Friday. Bear Lake (1-0) is No. 4 in the classification. The Bears beat Rich, Utah, 14-0 last Friday.
For the second consecutive week, Highland is No. 4 in 5A. The Rams topped Galena, Nevada, 36-10 last Saturday. The Rams (1-0) play Friday against Eagle, which totaled one vote, but was unranked.Â
Shelley (0-1) is the third-ranked team in 3A, while Snake River (0-1) is tied with Homedale at No. 5. The Russets lost 31-21 to Green Canyon, Utah, last Friday, while Snake River lost 35-27 to Blackfoot last Friday. Shelley hosts the Panthers on Friday.Â
Blackfoot, Century, Firth and Rockland received votes in their respective classifications, but were unranked.Â
