North Gem 58, Rockland 12

ROCKLAND - Austin Wuttke threw four touchdowns - three of which went to Mitchel Hall - as North Gem easily disposed of Rockland 58-12 on Friday in Rockland.

"They came out and did whatever they wanted," said Cowboys coach Kevin Carey.

Indeed, North Gem did.

Hall opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run, Tyler McLain returned a punt 60 yards and Wuttke connected with Hall for a 40-yard score to make it 24-0 early in the second quarter before the Bulldogs could even get on the scoreboard.

Rockland's Matt Nelson scored on an 18-yard run to trim the deficit to 24-6, but North Gem followed that up with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Wuttke to Hall to make it 30-6.

The teams would trade touchdowns once more - a one-yard run by Jake Spillett for Rockland and a 17-yard run by Colton Davids for North Gem - to make it 36-12 at halftime.

Wuttke threw his final two touchdowns in the second half - one to Hall and another to Justin White - and Taylor Askew closed out the scoring with an eight-yard run.

"We had a lot of good performances," Carey said. "Our offensive line blocked really well, and our defensive line got pressure in the backfield."

For the game, Wuttke connected on 14-of-23 passes for 316 yards and an interception while Hall caught four passes for 101 yards. He also had nine carries for 44 yards. White gained 106 yards on five catches for the Cowboys.

Spillett led the way for Rockland with 111 yards on 17 carries.

North Gem (3-3) will host Jackpot, Nev., next week, while Rockland (1-6) will travel to Richfield.
