FORT HALL — A young woman is dead and another person suffered injuries as a result of a one-vehicle wreck on a rural road on the Fort Hall Reservation on Tuesday.

The Bingham County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Sandra Damon, 19, of Blackfoot.

The wreck occurred around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday when a Chrysler SUV left Ross Fork Road and overturned about two miles east of Interstate 15, authorities said.

Damon, the SUV’s driver, died at the scene and another person in the SUV suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, authorities said.

The injured person’s name has not been released.

Ross Fork Road was temporarily shut down because of the crash.

Further details on the wreck have not yet been provided.

Fort Hall police and ambulance units responded to the crash along with Idaho State Police and the Bingham County Coroner’s Office.
