Chubbuck woman accused of stealing items from front yards of homes.

CHUBBUCK — On Thursday, Aug. 1 at 9:30 a.m., officers with the Chubbuck Police Department were notified of a theft that had occurred earlier in the day.

The theft was recorded on a Ring doorbell camera showing the suspect approach the residence at approximately 6:30 a.m., where she removed decorative items from a porch on Jena Drive in Chubbuck.

Our officers were able to quickly identify the suspect as Kayla Pratt, 41 year of age Chubbuck resident. Pratt was subsequently charged with Petit Theft.

During our investigation Pratt was cooperative with law enforcement and turned over several stolen items that were removed from front yards of homes in Chubbuck. We believe we were able to return all of the items to their rightful owners most of which were in the Chubbuck Rd and Philbin Rd area.

This is another case showing the value of surveillance cameras in our residential areas in addition to solid investigative work by our officer’s and support staff. This case sho uld also serve as a warning to those who seek to steal from those in our community, that you may be recorded on camera.
