Cache County Sheriff’s Office and Logan Police Department are warning residents of a recent TikTok challenge causing property damage and safety concerns in the community.

Reminiscent of the traditional “ding-dong ditch” prank, the “door kick challenge” involves participants, usually teenagers, kicking or banging aggressively on residential doors.

In a social media post Wednesday, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement has responded to several incidents this week from residents who experienced damage to their doors due to the challenge.

“We encourage everyone, especially parents, to be aware of the dangers associated with this challenge and to discuss the potential consequences of participating in such trends with their children,” the post stated.

Nationwide, multiple individuals involved in “door kicking” incidents have been arrested on charges such as criminal damage, disorderly conduct or harassment.
