POCATELLO — Local members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are organizing a Walk with Christ event in honor of Holy Week.

Revo Williams, who organized the event with his wife, Pat, said Walk with Christ will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Alameda Stake Center, 630 E. Alameda Road. Tours will depart every six minutes until 9 p.m. The event runs through Friday.

“Walk with Christ is something we’ve done for 21 years,” Williams said. “It’s a walk through the life of our Savior.”

The walk begins with the Nativity and follows the ministry of Christ, including the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. Live actors portray characters throughout the story, with all scripture drawn from the King James Version of the Bible.

“It’s a tremendous spiritual experience,” Williams said. “It takes about an hour. We take groups of 20 at a time.”

The walk concludes in the church’s cultural hall, where refreshments will be served. Participants are welcome to stay and visit.

“We invite everyone from every denomination or no denomination to please come and feel the spirit as they go through the walk,” Williams said. “The intent is to get everyone that comes spiritually ready for Easter Sunday.”

Williams and his wife first organized Walk with Christ 21 years ago while he was serving as bishop. His wife wanted to do something for the women in the congregation, and the couple found the script for Walk with Christ.

“We did it for the sisters,” Williams said. “Two years later, we did it for the stake and the people of Pocatello.”
