POCATELLO - School District 25 ordered an immediate spending and hiring freeze Wednesday in the wake of a failed $7.5 million supplemental levy that officials say has left the district in the greatest financial crisis it has ever faced.
During a special election Tuesday, 54 percent of voters in Pocatello and Chubbuck shot down the levy. It marked only the third time the levy has failed in its 58-year history.
