POCATELLO - In spite of recent rainstorms, the National Weather Service reports precipitation levels here are still 2.5 inches below normal.

While the late spring rain keeps the hillsides green, said forecaster Greg Kaiser, it also accelerates growth of grasses that can fuel wildfires later.
