POCATELLO — A fire that ignited Saturday morning in a north Pocatello carport spread to the adjacent home and displaced the residents who lived there, the Fire Department said.

The blaze at the home on the 800 block of Dahl Avenue near Pole Line Road was reported around 5:10 a.m., authorities said.

The Pocatello Fire Department responded and quickly contained the flames.

There were no injuries but the blaze destroyed the carport and caused significant damage to the house, the Fire Department said.

The residents who lived in the home will have to find a new place to live until the fire damage can be repaired, authorities said.

Firefighters remained on the scene until around noon Saturday making sure the fire was out and investigating its cause.

The fire temporarily shut down Dahl Avenue.

The Fire Department said the fire does not appear to be suspicious but the cause remains under investigation.
