SALMON — Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. Monday on US Highway 93 near Salmon.

At 9:45 a.m., an 82-year-old male from Salmon was traveling northbound on US 93 in a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup. The driver lost control of the pickup on the icy roads. The pickup went off the north side of the road, overturning into the Salmon River. The driver of the GMC Sierra succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The driver was wearing his seatbelt.

Idaho State Police were assisted by the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office and the Lemhi County Search and Rescue.
