NAMPA — An incarcerated Nampa man arrested June 30 on 10 counts of possession of child pornography now faces 16 additional felony charges, according to a Nampa Police Department news release.

David Vallejo Poff, 55, faces two counts of felony statutory rape; four counts of felony aggravated lewd conduct with a minor child 12 or under; one count of felony lewd conduct with a minor under 16; eight counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child by production and one count felony of intimidating a witness, according to court records.

Multiple crimes Poff has been accused of carry possible life sentences.

According to court records, the charging dates go back to June 2023.

Nampa Police Department detectives found through further investigation that there were “five additional victims, with multiple offenses, over a five-year period,” linked to Poff, a former babysitter.

The investigation, which is ongoing, shows there are “additional victims who have not yet been identified,” according to NPD. Investigators also found information that the children he babysat included “neighbors’ children and friends’ children.”

Poff remains in custody at Canyon County Jail.

NPD Chief Joe Huff issued a statement about Poff.

“The Nampa Police Department is committed to the safety of our community and to stopping vile behavior like this man’s,” Huff said. “Investigating crimes against children is a high priority and our investigators are committed to taking predators like Mr. Poff off the street with the intention of locking them up for a very long time, especially when it involves protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community, our children.”
