Howard Manwaring

POCATELLO — Bannock County Commission Chairman Howard Manwaring is battling health issues and will not be available to the public until further notice.

According to a brief press release sent Tuesday, it is unknown how long Manwaring will be out of his office. Commissioner Steve Hadley will be acting chairman during the absence.

Manwaring is a retired Bannock County deputy sheriff who first ran successfully for District 3 county commissioner in 2010. He won re-election to a four-year term in 2012.

In this year's Bannock County Commission election, incumbent Republican Karl Anderson is facing a challenge in District 1 from Democrat Tamara Code.

Who knew that any of them were available to the public all holed up in their new digs way south of town, far, far away from the courthouse. None of them appear to be very healthy either.
