An Idaho Falls man is charged with raping a girl at their residence in the early 2000s.
According to the criminal complaint, Lyle Allen Wolski, 54, allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl on or about Dec. 1, 2001, to April 29, 2002. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a $50,000 fine, $5,000 compensatory fine and restitution.
Wolski is being held in the Bonneville County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
According to an affidavit by a detective with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged victim initially reported the crime in 2021 but chose not to follow through with the report because she was scared of repercussions from Wolski and his wife. Last year she requested the case be reopened.
The alleged victim told authorities that she had been living with the couple. The couple allegedly convinced her to have sex with Wolski in order to have a child for them. She gave birth to a boy in September 2002 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center when she was 16. She gave birth to a second son in March 2006 when she was 19.
After the birth of her first son, the alleged victim said the couple bought a house and told her she had to move in with them to maintain access to her son. Deputies obtained birth certificates for each boy. They reportedly show Wolski as the father of both.
Eventually the alleged victim moved away and chose to reopen the case.
Wolski is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Feb. 10 before Magistrate Judge Michael A. Kirkham in the Bonneville County Courthouse.
