Marshall Public Library Hosts Exhibit Through March

How can citizens make a difference to the Portneuf River? Stop by the Marshall Public Library, 113 South Garfield Avenue, to see the "When it Rains it Drains" exhibit and learn what you and your neighbors can do at your homes to improve the Portneuf River. This interactive exhibit (previously located at City Hall) highlights the small steps everyone can take to help clean the Portneuf River.

Within Pocatello, storm water is the primary source of pollution to the Portneuf River. Storm water is the runoff water on streets, parking lots and driveways when it rains or snow melts. This water picks up all the dirt, trash, oil and fertilizer on our roads and lawns. The storm drains outside our homes and offices take storm water directly to the river.

See this process in action by visiting the Library any time through the end of March 2009. Afterwards, the exhibit will move to the Portneuf District Library and Chubbuck City Hall and will remain at each location for about three months. The exhibit is on loan from the City of Boise with modifications specific to Pocatello's system.
