INKOM - The body of a Salt Lake City woman reported missing June 12 was discovered Sunday in Walker Creek outside Inkom.

Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen said Michelle Erickson, 37, was found about 15 feet away from her late model Pontiac Grand Prix.

Erickson had been dead about 10 to 12 days.

Evidence at the scene indicate that she died from an apparent suicide.

Nielsen said campers saw the car and reported a foul odor in the vicinity at about 11:30 a.m.

Erickson last used her credit card almost two weeks ago at Flags West in Downey where she purchased lighter fluid that she used to attempt to light charcoal inside her car.

Nielsen said tubing was also rigged up to the car's exhaust and several prescription drugs were also found.

Next of kin was notified and Nielsen said the death was ruled a suicide.

Erickson left behind two children ages 12 and 13.
