IDAHO FALLS - Dennis Miotla, Office of Nuclear Energy's deputy assistant secretary for nuclear power deployment, was named interim manager for the Department of Energy's Idaho operations office until the DOE finds a permanent manager.

Miotla succeeds Elizabeth Sellers, who was the Idaho operations office manager from April 2003. She is retiring in February. Miotla has been with the DOE for 18 years. He was deputy director for Nuclear Operations Office, Office of Nuclear Energy. He was also awarded a Presidential Rank Award for his performance in advancement of nuclear programs for the Idaho site programs. Before coming to the Office of Nuclear Energy, he was the director, Office of Research Development and Test Facilities, Office of Defense Programs, National Nuclear Security Administration, in charge of the federal management of operations and facilities at Los Alamos, Sandia and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and the Nevada Test Site.
