POCATELLO - The Idaho Transportation Department will close Hiline Road in Chubbuck for about a week, beginning Monday for construction of a roundabout at the roads intersection with Mallard Street and Mountain Park Lane.

Through traffic will be routed to Yellowstone Avenue via Chubbuck Road.

Completion of the roundabout is part of a major project to build an additional lane to eastbound Interstate 86 and to widen Hiline Road from Flandro Drive to Chubbuck Road. The project also will add a center turn lane, bicycle lanes and sidewalks.

Most of the Hiline widening project will be complete by the end of this month. Work on the first interstate bridge should be finished late this year, and construction will begin on a second bridge in 2010.

Knife River Construction of Boise is the contractor for this $11.2 million project.
