Portneuf Medical Center and Portneuf Health Care Foundation Announce Board Leadership

Pocatello, Idaho (February 12, 2009) - Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) and the new Portneuf Heath Care Foundation are proud to announce the new Chairmen of their respective Boards. Mark Buckalew, as the newly elected Chairman of the Portneuf Health Care Foundation, will also serve as the chairperson of the JV Board of Directors. Buckalew commented, " I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Foundation and the JV Board of Directors and look forward to our relationship with Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. (LHP) as we work together to bring healthcare in southeastern Idaho to new heights." Charged with the strategic oversight of the new Community Benefit Organization, Buckalew will now lead the 10 member Board made up of local physicians and community leaders and representatives of LHP. Other officers of the Foundation are Stephen Weeg, Vice Chairman, Dave Swindell, Treasurer, and Nancy Renn, Ph D, Secretary.

Dr. Ben Call was elected Chairman of the Portneuf Medical Center Board of Trustees at their first meeting. Dr. Call stated, "This is an exciting time for Portneuf Medical Center because it is now the best capitalized hospital in the state of Idaho and is debt-free. We now have the resources and the resolve to become a world class regional medical center. I am humbled by the opportunity to lead this group of outstanding physicians and community leaders on the hospital Board of Trustees. We will work diligently to create a bright future for the hospital that is a lasting legacy of quality healthcare for the hospital, its patients, the medical staff, and the citizens of southeast Idaho". Dr. Call will lead the local 12 member citizen board, charged with maintaining operational excellence and quality for the hospital. Phil Joslin will join the newly formed Trustee Board, as the Vice Chair.
