From the National Weather Service
POCATELLO - The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Bannock County and Southeast Idaho including the cities of Swan Lake, Pocatello, McCammon and Lava Hot Springs. The advisory is in effect until 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
At 1:36 p.m. MST a weather service employee reported large areas of
urban flooding in Pocatello, Chubbuck and surrounding areas. Recent rainfall has combined with snowmelt to cause nuisance flooding of roadways, yards and fields. Several residential basements have been flooded due to this ponding water. Additional rainfall along with above freezing temperatures are expected this evening which could cause additional flooding in poor drainage areas.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams and ponding of water in urban areas such as highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
